I’m to a point where several little projects are going at once. All the while, readying for a fresh new concrete slab to be poured in the “service bay” of my garage. Soon there will be no more need to crawl around in the gravel while working on projects.
I’m currently working on things such as cleaning and freshening the motor I pulled from the 2004 Sierra. Cleaning the outside as well as the inside.

Wiring harness has neared completion. Next is to finalize the connections to the new fuse block and assemble the plug for inside wiring.

Removing the power steering pulley so I can get the pump off the bracket for cleaning and painting. Chasing the threads with a tap to clear out the rust so I can reinstall pulley without problems.

The block is cleaned with power washer, Purple Power, a brush and wire wheel to ready it for paint.

The valve lifters were in especially dirty and grimy condition. Disassembly is easy and makes for a very clean lifter. It’s surprising how good this motor was running before I tor it apart considering how dirty some components are.

The fuel injectors have now been cleaned and new o-rings installed.
Reconditioned 862 heads have arrived to replace crappy 706 heads.
All gaskets have arrived.
Oil pan ordered. TSP 81073.
