Ouch, that hurts…

This could be a problem… I actually got it straightened out a bit. Enough to free up the movement. I will need bearings and there are some missing pieces.

I found another 67 column locally.  I have disassembled both and rebuilding one good complete with the two.  Thanks to exploded diagrams online, I am able to know what is missing and in what order parts go back in.

The under-hood end gets a bearing that is held in by a preload spring instead of being pressed in or retained by a clip.  I am having trouble finding a replacement spring only.

Before this column goes back in, I replace the old busted back-up light switch with a new combo neutral safety/back-up light switch.  BWD-S270

While all of this is out, all rust gets removed and items repainted, including any nuts and bolts.  Here the brake pedal gets some attention before being replaced back in the truck.
